Gijs Kuijper is a graphic designer, art director and photographic composition artist. Since the early 2000s he spent most of his time working on theatrical and home entertainment key-arts and film marketing campaigns for some of the biggest names in the European film industry. He has worked on over 400 documentary- and feature film titles, from conception through to final campaign.
He received the Best Dutch Filmposter Award for feature film God Forsaken (Van God Los) in 2003, still considered to be one of the best films ever made in Holland. Subsequently he created the artwork for Oscar Nominated Dutch entry Twin Sisters (De Tweeling) and International Documentary Festival Amsterdam winner Position Amongst the Stars (Stand van de Sterren, 2010).
Marketing campaigns of note include Demolition (Jean-Marc Vallée, USA, 2015), Beautiful Boy (Felix van Groeningen, USA, 2018), Colette (Wash Westmoreland, USA/UK/Hungary, 2018), Heaven (Tom Tykwer, USA/EU, 2002), The Girl Who Played with Fire (Flickan som Lekte med Elden, Sweden, 2009), The Migrumpies (Die Migrantigen, Austria, 2017), The Foster Boy (Der Verdingbub, Switzerland, 2011), Vipers Nest (Gooische Vrouwen, The Netherlands, 2011) and Iraqi Odyssey (Switzerland, 2014).
